Work
Senior software engineer at Engineius, with a good chunk of DevOps alongside it. The system I work on manages the moves of over 10,000 vehicles a month, so most of my time goes on keeping that reliable and on the infrastructure underneath it.
Building
Woofzy is the side project at the moment, a dog walking app with React Native on the front end and .NET behind it.
I’m also rebuilding this site into something I’ll actually keep up with. See the write-up.
Learning
Go. I’m learning it by building Reading Bot, a Telegram bot that writes the markdown behind my reading list and pushes it for me. Working through the guide rather than taking code off it, so it’s slower but it sticks.
Reading
The Testaments is the one I’m actually reading, and Mockingjay is on Audible for walks and drives. The rest is on the reading list.
Watching
Wentworth, currently on season 6. The rest is on the watching list.
Away from the keyboard
Walks with Cleo, and making a point of doing more that isn’t techy. Mostly that means working through National Trust properties we haven’t been to yet.
